I’m Kleo.
tldr; I got my B.S. in Computer Science, but was always an equally creative & technical person, later pursuing UX.
Always striving to grow as a product designer, I think like a leader more and more - why we do what we do, where the puck is moving, and how we can position ourselves in the industry, while still designing human first.

Well, I graduated with my B.S. in Computer Science. Prior to my venture as a product designer, I was dabbling in software development.
As a child, my mom let me use her work computer to play games. These games allowed me to use Microsoft Paint (humble beginning, I know) to design buttons that I could then link with HTML. I had an equal interest in the designing and interactivity of linking the button to an action. With my background in tech, my knowledge of programming principles and feasibilities came to my advantage during my transition to product design. I wanted to be able to apply my interest in design in a digital way. I just didn’t know how until I found out about user-centered design, and that fulfilled the role I was seeking but couldn’t find.
My background in tech gives me a better grasp to answer how things need to be designed the way they do. In synchrony with user-centered design, it allows me to also answer the why of design. Having the programming fundamentals allow me to have a deeper understanding of the fusion of design and development lifecycles to produce amazing designs for users.
Outside of work, I love bringing my design (or sometimes, guilty-pleasure fiction) books to cafes, cooking/baking, listening to music and psych podcasts, and being outdoors during my free time.
