Campaigns and Marketing

MyChart website builder

Designing a no-code website builder for healthcare marketers and analysts to design and create organizations’ public websites.

Key outcomes

Due to my work being under NDA, I can’t share about the full process or outcomes. However, here are a few examples that illustrate my caliber of work:

  • Leading design sprints with product leads and key stakeholders

  • Market research, quick iteration, and pivoting with AI to understand the competitive landscape

  • Understanding Epic’s new user base of marketers and digital experience designers

  • Designing the North Star vision for MyChart Builder and its integration with other Epic tools.

Problem

Epic has a new user base of marketers and digital strategists because organizations are prioritizing personalized omnichannel outreach. Epic did not have a tool that would allow healthcare organizations to easily connect their campaigns to a website with tools that our end users are familiar with.

Goal

As the sole user experience designer for MyChart Builder, my goal was to take large projects, distill them down into manageable projects, and lead future North Star Designs with software that is integrated with Epic, but familiar to other design or no-code builder software that end users are accustomed to.

  • Innovative, yet familiar - design a tool that pushes the boundary from what other no-code builders can do, while still following industry standards

  • Quick iteration- With its recent launch and coming out of the early adopter phase, this meant quick feedback and iteration.

  • Integrated - Design something that works well and doesn’t have a large contextual jump when switching between related activities.

  • Innovative with AI - Not only will this be a huge improvement towards helping organizations grow, but it helps streamline the workflows to help get there, faster.

Research & Insights

Trends indicated that organizations…

  • need targeted, personalized campaigns, with omnichannel outreach to match patients’ expectations with how products work in other industries

  • value a tool that mirrors industry standards for design and website publishing

  • want their sites to integrate seamlessly and provide a throughput of analytics to show conversion rates

  • have no strong consensus on how they structure interaction between marketers and other teams.

  • generally have marketing working in silos

Impact

We already have 50,000 public page hits, improved analytics, and am building a future North Star with even more marketing integration to really keep us moving forward.

As this gains more traction, it’ll be clear that organizations can build and scale their sites to improve population health.
